Writing is a lonely business. You spend hours and hours with your thoughts, sitting in front of a computer or with a pen and paper and wait for your creative side to take control. Writers stay closed and alone because that is what the nature of their work demands but even they need to network with fellow writers.
Networking for writers is not the one for business people. Writers connect with fellow writers to share experiences and observations more often than to get inside scoop about the latest deal. I said in the beginning that writing is a lonely business so why do writers need to network? Here are some reasons to explain.
# Yes it is true, writing is a lonely business. Being a writer myself I can testify for that. But being alone all day and concentrating on your craft is not all. Writers need to network with other writers to exchange ideas and experiences. You can learn from each other and that can help your work.
#Writers need to network to help them cope with the strain of being isolate for most part of the way. Who better to understand the job stress than another writer?
#Also networking with a writer helps them know about the writing market and sometimes get a project. This especially works when you get together with a better and more experienced writer.
#Networking helps writers to feel part of a group, which helps them stay positive and ward off depression. You know writers are much more likely to suffer from depression and become addicted to drugs or alcohol.
So, my fellow writers,network and network. You will not lose anything instead you will gain friends and valuable experience.
