 Introducing Young Aussie Poet
"A Day in School"
 by
Nicole Louise Janetzki
(8 years old - born 25-12-1993)

Today I went to school,
It was a very cold day,
I walked in the rain,
I'd rather play in the hay.

spacerI arrived at school late,
I had mud on my shoes
My teacher wasn't happy,
So I was in the blues.

She said get out your books,
I forgot mine I said,
My teacher got really angry,
My face went bright red.

Sometimes I like school
Sometimes I don't
I'd really like to poke my tongue out
But decided I won't.

How refreshing to see that Nicole has chosen to use a
traditional rhyming pattern for her poem.  Thanks Nicole.
